June 13, 2008 - Bill Figley, Retired Reef Coordinator, N.J. Division of Fish and Wildlife
Topic – Reef fishing techniques and an update on Reef Rescue, and the bills to save the reefs.

July 11, 2008 - Tom Fote, Legislative Chairman for the Jersey Coast Anglers Association (JCAA)
Topic – Tom will discuss how a combination of politics, flawed science, and people opposed to fishing are working against our rights to recreational fishing.

August 8, 2008 - Adam Nowalsky, captain of the Karen Ann II, and a board member of the Save the Summer Fluke Fishing Fund (SSFFF)
Topic – This group has been very aggressive in fighting the elitists and anti-fishing fanatics that govern many of our fishing activities. They have commissioned a new fluke survey with prominent scientists and also have hired a lobbyists to help in the fight against these outdated fishing regulations.

September 12, 2008 - Petty Officer Michael Bontempo from the Barnegat Light Coast Guard Station, will speak on cold water safety and survival techniques that should be of great interest to Fall striper fisherman.




VHFC's general meetings are held on the second Friday of each month (Apr - Nov) in the Community Center located on Mill Creek Road in Manahawkin, NJ.   The general meetings, featuring club news, fishing reports, upcoming events and guest speakers begin at 7:45 pm.  Doors open at 7:30 pm.   If you would like to learn about fishing in our area, please join us at one of our meetings.
