Grundens Stormy Seas
FSL1000 PDF Suspenders
Turn your Grundens bib suspenders into an inflatable personal floatation
device (PFD) with the Stormy Seas FSL1000 Inflatable Yoke. These
"Inflatable Suspenders" replace the existing Grundens
suspenders and thus clip directly onto all Grundens Bibs that have
"speed clip style" suspenders. *See Bottom of Page*
The FSL 1000 Inflatable Yoke is a great safety product for both
commercial and recreational fishermen. This inflatable system easily
attaches to the suspender clips of Grundens bib pants. Once in place,
the comfortable and convenient yoke turns your suspenders into an
inflatable PFD when needed. In an emergency, simply tear away the
pocket-like flap over the left breast, and the chamber will inflate. If
you happen to be wearing a jacket over the yoke, simply run a belt
through the ribbon loop that descends from the pocket area (see
illustration bellow). A sharp pull on the belt is all that it takes to inflate
the chamber.
The FSL100 must clip onto a pair of Grundens Bib pants in order to be
used (not a stand alone PFD). The FSL1000 can be operated via a manual
CO2 and/or oral tube. It has a maximum buoyancy of 35-lbs which is more
than enough floatation for an above average sized adult. The FSL1000 is
available only in red. One Size Fits All. For more information please

More Information about the Stormy Seas FSL1000:
Inside each inflatable garment is a high-performance buoyancy cell. It is made
from the same material as inflatable life vests used by the military - a tough 200
denier nylon coated with urethane to make it 100% air-holding.
The FSL100 has a maximum bouyancy of 35-lbs! What does 35 lbs. of
buoyancy mean?
A device that provides 35 lbs. of buoyancy is capable of supporting 35 lbs. of a
very dense material (iron, lead, gold, granite, etc.) - it will not allow the
material to sink to the bottom. How can this help a large adult?
- The average adult weighs approximately 10 lbs. in the water.
It works like this:
• A 200 lb. person is approx 80% water = 160 lbs. (water has no weight in water)
• A 200 lb. person is approx 15% fat = 30 lbs. (fat is lighter than water)
• Actual weight of the person = 200 lbs. - 190 lbs. (minus 160 lbs. water and 30
lbs. fat) = 10 lbs.
• If this same person were to take a deep breath, inflate his/her lungs, they
would probably float, and weigh nothing at all.
A simple trigger with 3 important features: • The area that activates the inflation chamber looks like a pocket to conceal
and protect the inflation hardware.
• The pocket flap is secured with velcro to protect the inflation hardware from
entanglement with lines, netting, brambles, or anything else that could cause
the garment to inflate when not needed.
• The pocket flap is the simple-to-use trigger. When you pull downward on the
pocket, you detach the velcro-secured flap and activate the mechanism that
inflates the buoyancy chamber. This movement is easy for even a gloved or
groping hand.
Assurance of quality: Every Stormy Seas Inflatable System is manufactured in the U.S.A. to exacting
standards. Stormy Seas, Inc. uses only the best materials in the construction of
every inflatable system. In addition, each system is individually tested to 4
psi for a minimum of 12 hours.
Note: The FSL1000 will attach (clip) on to the Extreme, Harvester, Herk, Clipper, Petrus and Petrus HD Series bib pants; however, they will
not work on the Nordan Series Bibs pants because the Nordan Series does
not feature the Grundens speed clip style suspenders.
