Tag Sticks feature the same light, strong "swaged" aluminum shaft as AFTCO
gaffs, as well as the same tapered
tip design for quick, accurate handling in the water. Gold anodized
finish; the overall length is 6 feet. Either of our two choices of heads
can be threaded into the end of the shaft, and are easily replaceable. TSH
1 tag stick heads fit standard National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)
tags with slotted metal heads designed for "forked" applicators.
TSH 2 tag
stick heads fit standard Billfish Foundation (TBF) tags, and current NMFS
tags with nylon heads designed for "pointed" applicators.

Flying Gaffs and Hooks. Sized to land any thing short of Giant Bluefin,
AFTCO
Flyers belong on any serious sport fishing boat, whether big or small.
Available in traditional gold and the new black anodized handles, these
flyers are ready to help you land your catch when matched with Canyon
flying gaff ropes. The slim, tapered tips of AFTCO's Taper
Tip Flying Gaffs slice through water faster and with greater accuracy to
minimize the problems of gaffing powerful fish. Like AFTCO's Taper Tip
Aluminum Gaffs, the shafts of these Flying Gaffs are "swaged" for uniform
strength from end to end, thereby eliminating unnecessary weight. The hook
seats in a tough plastic insert that is fitted into the gaff tip, and is
held in place by a length of 20 lb. test line tied to a steel post affixed
to the shaft. When a fish is gaffed, this line snaps, providing a clean
and immediate release. A machined aluminum gimbal at the butt of the shaft
secures the attachment rope; and along with the plastic insert in the tip,
prevents water from seeping into the shaft. If dropped overboard, the gaff
will float! Shafts are 6 feet long and are fitted with two black non slip
grips, and anodized for beauty and resistance to corrosion. The barbed
hooks are made from corrosion
resistant stainless steel and will not straighten out in use. The
triangular point gives better penetration and is easy to sharpen. All
three flying gaff hooks will fit into the standard 6' handle.

fish too large for a landing net intended for release. The
Aftco Tailer provides safer control of boated fish and allows for
injury-free tagging. The AFTCO
"Tailer" helps you bring a boated fish under control quickly and safely,
it's the ideal way to control fish while you measure them for legal size,
and can be a big help in lifting fish as heavy as 100 pounds into the
boat.
When used on a fish that is to be released, the Tailer is more effective
than lip gaffing, and it minimizes injury to the fish. Featuring a wide
loop of springy stainless steel aircraft cable, the Tailer slips easily
over the tail of your fish, and with a quick upward pull, closes instantly
and snugly. With its tail out of the water, the fish's movements are
strictly limited, so it becomes much easier to tag and release the fish,
or to lift it into the boat. A swivel built into the cable allows you to
better handle fish that roll and twist, which sharks frequently do. The
AFTCO Tailer is four feet long with an aluminum shaft anodized a rich gold for
lasting beauty and resistance to corrosion. Two soft but rugged black
