The Van Staal VS Series
Spinning Reels combine the art of design and manufacturing into a reel of
uncompromising strength and simplicity. The frame, rotor and spool are
machined from billet aluminum for unyielding strength, unlike other
high-end reels that are made from weak die cast aluminum and plastic.
Internal parts are made from the highest grades of metals available like
stainless steel and titanium. The patented waterproof maintenance free
drag system runs on two stainless steel ball bearings for silky smooth
drag performance under the harshest conditions. One of the VS Series' most
famous features is its sealed, waterproof drag system and gear case. Even
if you are not in the habit of submerging your reel while fishing, regular
exposure to the elements alone is enough to compromise the integrity of
the drag system and inner gears. Anyone who's hooked into a monster only
to feel the drag slip or hear that unmistakable coffee-grinder sound
coming from their reel, knows how painfully true this can be. That's why
when VS set out to build the market's most durable and reliable fishing
reel, VS knew that drag and gear protection was critical for consistent
peak performance. To achieve this protection the VS Series' design uses
watertight seals throughout the spool, body and handle assembly. No other
reel on the market offers this level of protection and that's why no other
reel on the market will do for serious anglers looking for the ultimate in
hard-fishing performance. The main gear and pinion are hardened stainless
steel. The large diameter main shaft is made from solid titanium, and
mirror polished for smooth operation. Choose from a selection of 5
different models, including the VS100, VS150, VS200, VS250, and VS300 to
suite your particular needs. Available in gold, black or silver. For
experienced anglers, the challenge is not always finding and hooking big
fish, it's landing them. That's why the VS Series line of spinning reels
is designed with a Main Gear that actually helps you fight and land the
fish. Made from hardened stainless steel, the Main Gear will never slip or
strip under pressure. The VS Series Main Gear is also oversized to provide
more fish-fighting torque per crank of the handle. Translation: You
control the fight ... not the fish. New Left Hand Reels (right hand
retrieve) Van Staal introduces true left hand versions of its classic
VS150 and VS250 reels. These reels combine all of the advanced
capabilities of VS150 and VS250 series reels, plus smooth action
right-hand retrieve handle, and true left-hand rotation for easy line
pick-up. Available in gold, black or silver. VS Series Spinning Reels come
with a limited lifetime warranty that covers all defects in materials and
workmanship. This warranty is offered only to the original owner of the
reel. If the reel is found defective under the use for which it was
intended, it will be repaired with the same or comparable parts at no
additional charge. This warranty does not cover commercial use, misuse,
abuse, or improper service. This warranty will be deemed VOID if the reel
is found to have been subjected to unauthorized alterations, abuse, or
damage by your failure to provide necessary care and reasonable
maintenance as specified in the Product Care and Maintenance Guide. Annual
Van Staal Factory Service is performed for the minimal fee of $36.95.
Reels can either be shipped directly to Van Staal. Reels that have not
been serviced within one year will be deemed out of warranty. Reels that
are out of warranty for non-compliance of Annual Service requirements or
purchased second-hand can obtain full warranty reinstatement by paying the
fee for Annual Service plus all parts and labor required to achieve full
warranty condition. Warranty Exclusions: All wear items on the VS Spinning
Reels are warranted for a period of one year from date of original
purchase only. A copy of the original dated sales receipt must accompany
all warranty claims.
