Shimano Tekota TEK800LC

The Shimano Tekota is a great durable fishing reel at an affordable price. With line capacity, construction and advanced features, the Tekota is a great solution for anglers who troll for both fresh and saltwater species. In the Tekota Series Shimano offers a line counter on three sizes; TEK500LC, TEK600LC and TEK800LC. These reels are very popular with anglers who troll because it allows the angler to set a trolling spread or on lure at a precise distance away from the boat. The line counter is also very popular with anglers who jig and want to target a specific water depth. The Tekota 800LC (shown at left) is a very popular reel for trolling, especially in the North East. Angler love them for trolling striped bass with braided line, lead core line and wireline (note the levelwind guide holds up great; however, special care and attention is needed to keep the aluminum spool from pitting due to a reaction with wireline).
